FSC Athletics Winter Update No. 9

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its latest winter weekly reports Tuesday, and Farmingdale State College sophomore Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to its men's basketball weekly honor roll.

Men's Basketball (11-8, 8-2 Skyline) | Skyline Report

Farmingdale State went 2-for-2 at home last week in Skyline action, besting Yeshiva on Wednesday, 67-66, in a rematch of last season's championship final before defeating Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, 99-73.

Evans averaged 11.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting .588 (10-of-17) from the floor in just 41 minutes of play on the week. He registered 15 points (7-of-10 FG), 10 boards (five offensive) and a game-clinching block in the last three seconds versus the Maccabees, before following up with eight points, nine caroms and three blocked shots on the weekend.

A pair of Skyline contests at the top of the standings will take place this week, including Wednesday's 7 p.m. start at Gold Division-leading Sarah Lawrence, and Saturday's 1 p.m. home date against Black Division leader Maritime. Prior to the weekend tilt against the Privateers, FSC will play host to its annual Alumni Day.

Women's Basketball (12-8, 9-6 Skyline) | Skyline Report

The Rams got back to their winning ways with two Skyline triumphs last week, defeating Purchase by a 77-49 score on Tuesday at home, before completing a season sweep of defending champion Mount Saint Vincent on the road Saturday, 59-56.

In Saturday's victory over the Dolphins, senior guard Isabella Greenwald (West Islip, N.Y.) scored a career-high 19 points, including 13 in the second half and an 8-of-8 afternoon at the free-throw line.

Farmingdale State currently sits in fifth in the Skyline standings, and travels to New York City for a pair of outings this week: Wednesday for a 6 p.m. start at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, as well at Sunday at 3 p.m. against Yeshiva in a game that will be played at Baruch College's ARC Arena.

Indoor Track and Field

FSC was off from competition this past week, and will return to action Friday in New London, Conn., at the Coast Guard Academy Winter Invite No. 2. The meet will be the Rams' last before the Feb. 22-23, New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships in Philadelphia. Entering this weekend's meet, men's junior Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) sits in ninth place nationally in the triple jump.
