SAAC Toys for Tots Drive
The Farmingdale State College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will once again play host to a Toys for Tots Drive in advance of the holiday season, and collection boxes are set up in the Nold Hall lobby through Monday, December 15. Students, faculty, staff and fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for the annual initiative conducted nationwide by the United States Marine Corps. Home events during the toy drive include the December 10 (Wed.) men's basketball game versus Swarthmore at 7 p.m., along with the December 13 (Sat.) noontime women's basketball contest against Old Westbury.
Men's Basketball (5-1)Â |Â Skyline Report
Farmingdale State captured a 75-73 home victory Saturday afternoon over 11th-ranked Wesleyan University – the Rams' first win over a ranked opponent since they defeated the Cardinals on the road in November 2022. The triumph was highlighted in
D3hoops.com's roundup of Saturday play.
Buckley scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting (4-of-7 3FG) to go with six rebounds and three steals against Wesleyan, and tipped away the potential tying inbounds pass with 0.3 seconds to go underneath the Cardinals' basket.Â
Freshman forward
Dylon Stanley (Lynbrook, N.Y.) received honorable mention praise from the Skyline, as he added eight points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots to continue the strong start to his rookie campaign.
Two road non-conference games dot FSC's schedule this week, including Wednesday's 7 p.m. tip-off at SUNY New Paltz, along with a 1 p.m. game Saturday at New York University – a national finalist last season that received votes in last week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
Women's Basketball (2-3, 1-2 Skyline)Â |Â Skyline Report
Farmingdale State nearly rallied from a 16-point deficit in Skyline play Wednesday versus the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, before falling to the Mariners, 56-53, when a potential game-tying 3-pointer was off the mark in the final seconds. Sophomore forward
Emily Tsiforas (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) led three double-digit Rams scorers with a career-high 14 points on the night.
Skyline play continues for FSC this week with a pair of outings, beginning Wednesday night with a home date versus Purchase at 6. The Rams then travel Saturday to defending champion Mount Saint Mary for a noontime tip-off in Newburgh, N.Y.
