FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team has now won six of its last seven matches, following the Rams' (7-3) defeat of visiting Hunter College (2-4) on Wednesday night, 8-1.

FSC started the contest by sweeping all three doubles matches, including an 8-1 decision at the No. 2 flight by junior Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and senior Muhammad Sawar (Brentwood, N.Y.) over the Hawks' Justin Pazmino and Anil Singh. The top-flight tandem of senior Mark Baker (Baldwin, N.Y.) and freshman Ryan Hendel (No. Merrick, N.Y.) followed suit with an 8-2 triumph over Christopher Popovic and Jairo Baquer Molina, while the No. 3 pair of senior Matthew Olkhovetsky (Great Neck, N.Y.) and junior Ethan Cintron (Bayside, N.Y.) collected an 8-3 win over Kenneth Del Cid and Austin Martinez.

The top-five Rams singles players earned straight-set victories, including Baker's top-flight decision versus Popovic by identical 6-0 scores. Sabovic defeated Molina at the No. 2 position, 6-0 and 6-1, while Hendel knocked off Pazmino at No. 3 by the same scores. Olkhovetsky downed Singh, 6-0 and 6-2 at No. 4, while Manzi rounded out the Farmingdale State victories at the No. 5 flight with a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Martinez.

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams wrap up the second half of their back-to-back non-conference games at home on Thursday afternoon, when they play host to the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) at 4:30 p.m.
