Men's Tennis Opens Spring Slate vs. Baruch

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team kicked off the spring portion of its schedule Tuesday night, falling to visiting Baruch College by a 7-2 score.

Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) picked up a strong win at No. 2 singles for the Rams (1-2), defeating Jim Bauer of Baruch (5-1) by scores of 6-1 and 6-4 in straight sets.

Also carding a victory in singles play for FSC was Vincent Manzi (Massapequa, N.Y.), who overcame a first-set tiebreaker defeat to storm back and capture a three-set, super-tiebreaker decision over the Bearcats' Mathias Davila (6-7 [4-7], 6-3, 1-0 [10-8]).

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's Farmingdale State squad is back in non-conference action Friday afternoon, when it travels to Brooklyn College for a 4 p.m. first serve.
