Box Score Rams Improve to 10-0 with Win over Bard

Garden City, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State
women's basketball team defeated Skyline Conference opponent
Bard College, 63-39, this afternoon in Garden City, N.Y. The Rams
improved to 10-0, 5-0 in the Skyline, while Bard fell to 2-9
overall, 1-6 in conference play.
Farmingdale State trailed 6-5 with 10:53 remaining, before a 20-4
run over the next five minutes put the Rams on top 25-9. After
allowing only eight more points in the half, Farmingdale took a
36-17 lead into the locker room. Farmingdale's defense held
the Raptors to 26.9% shooting in the first half.
The Rams opened the second half on a 12-4 run and led 48-21 with
14:39 remaining. Farmingdale would extend the lead on freshman
guard Jeanette Zubizarreta's (Bay Shore, N.Y./Calhoun) layup
at the 11:31 mark, giving the Rams their largest lead of the game
at 54-26. Farmingdale allowed on 39 points to Bard and improved to
10-0 with the win.
Senior guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker)
led all scorers with 18 points for Farmingdale. Blakney recorded
nine rebounds, had six steals and blocked three shots. Zubizarreta,
Nikita Green and sophomore forward Dominique Cunningham
(Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) and each netted seven points in the
victory.
Bard was led by Latiqua Williams (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) who
scored 15 points, grabbed 12 boards and had four steals.
Farmingdale State will host Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday,
January 12th at 6:00 p.m.
