Box Score Rams Remain Unbeaten with Win over Yeshiva
Farmingdale State - 98, Yeshiva - 49
Holliswood, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's
basketball team remains unbeaten with a 98-49 win over Yeshiva
University last night. The Rams now stand at 6-0, 3-0 in the
Skyline, while Yeshiva dropped to 2-8, 0-6 in conference play.
Farmingdale opened the game on a 22-1 run over the first five
minutes, putting the contest out of reach early for the Maccabees.
The Rams allowed only 18 first half points and went into halftime
with a 46-18 advantage.
In the second half, Farmingdale outscored Yeshiva by 21 points,
capping off their highest offensive output of the season. The Rams
forced a season-high 42 turnovers.
Senior guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker)
scored a game-high 33 points, had 15 rebounds, four blocked shots
and four steals in 22 minutes of action for the Rams. Senior guard
Kamaya Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) had 13 points and seven
boards, while freshman guard Jeanette Zubizarreta (Bay Shore,
N.Y./Calhoun) scored nine points.
The Maccabees were led by junior guard Avigail Varnai (Skokie,
Ill./ICJA) who recorded 14 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard
Jaclyn Ramras (Woodmere, N.Y./SKA) pitched in scoring 12 points and
grabbing 11 boards.
Farmingdale State will square off against Connecticut College at
the ECAC Holiday Classic in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, January
2nd at 2:00 p.m.
