SPRINGFIELD, Mass. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at Springfield College on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play.
The Rams (3-5) played to a pair of 6-4 scores in doubles play against the Pride (8-5), with FSC freshman
Devan Melandro (Syosset, N.Y.) and sophomore
Zakaria Ahmed (Manhasset, N.Y.) battling in their top flight match, while junior
Emil Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and freshman
Luke Plana (Bohemia, N.Y.) competed to the same score in their No. 3 position.
In singles play, Farmingdale State freshman
Henri Pothier (Montgomery, N.Y.) played to a three-set match with his SC counterpart, and sent the match to a third-set super tiebreaker after earning a 6-3, second-set victory.
FSC will play a pair of Skyline Conference matches, including Saturday's noontime start at Mount Saint Mary, along with a 2 p.m. home contest Sunday versus the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
