DANBURY, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team closed out regular season play on Monday, winning a non-conference match at Western Connecticut State University, 5-2.
FSC (12-7) went ahead 1-0 over the Wolves (5-14) by sweeping the teams' three doubles matches. The top-flight Rams duo of junior
Danial Zindani (Walden, N.Y.) and freshman
Luke Plana (Bohemia, N.Y.) secured a 6-2 decision in the top flight, followed by a 6-3 victory at the No. 2 spot by junior
Myles Freelin (Islip, N.Y.) and freshman
Broc Brown (Lindenhurst, N.Y.). The Farmingdale State doubles sweep wrapped up with a 6-4 win in the third flight by sophomores
Jordan Gonzales (Central Islip, N.Y.) and
Jake Pepitone (Carle Place, N.Y.).
The Rams captured four of the six singles matches, with Freelin first into the scorebook with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph in the fifth flight. Brown registered a 6-3, 6-0 decision in the No. 4 slot, before the team match was clinched when Gonzales secured a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2. Plana rounded out FSC's victories with a third-set super tiebreaker decision at No. 3, 6-2, 4-6 and 1-0 (10-4)
Farmingdale State is the No. 2 seed in this week's 2026 Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Championship, and will play host to third-seeded U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (a 4-0 winner in first-round play Monday night versus Mount Saint Mary) on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30.
