FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | College Sports Communicators released its NCAA Division III Academic All-District Softball Team on Tuesday, and Farmingdale State College senior second baseman Alyssa Cowen (Garden City South, N.Y.) and junior designated player Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) repeated as honorees.

Cowen was named to the team for the third-consecutive season, while Stolfi receives kudos for the second-straight campaign.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Stolfi has been selected to move forward to the balloting for the Academic All-America Team; the list of honorees will be released on Tuesday, June 17. She is a three-time All-Skyline Conference First Team selection, and the Applied Psychology major has served as the secretary of FSC's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the last two academic years. Stolfi batted .325 from her cleanup position in the batting lineup with 40 hits, 31 RBI, 12 walks and nine sacrifices (six bunts, three flies) across her 45 starts for the Rams. She notched the walk-off hit on the first day of the double-elimination portion of the Skyline Conference Championship versus Old Westbury (May 8), kick-starting Farmingdale State's run to its record-10th conference title.

Cowen registered a perfect 4.0 grade point average in Computer Programming and Information Systems at Farmingdale State, and was a three-year starter at second base for the Rams. She scored 22 runs in her senior season, and helped turn 15 double plays in the middle infield. Cowen was named the inaugural winner of the Skyline Conference's Elite 19 Award, which is awarded in each of the Skyline's19 sports to the student-athlete competing in the conference championship with the highest GPA.

Head coach Liz Pennino's Farmingdale State team went 29-16 in 2025, and recorded a 15-3 mark in regular-season Skyline play before capturing its record-setting postseason conference title.
