FARMINGDALE, N.Y. |Â The Farmingdale State College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Skyline Conference Championship hosted by Purchase College on Sunday morning. The men earned a third-place team finish, while the women took fourth overall. Junior
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) and freshman
Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) each earned First Team All-Conference honors as they placed in the top-seven individually.
In the men's 8k race, Aguilar led the Rams with a sixth-place time of 27:21.4. Aguilar was the top non-U.S. Merchant Marine Academy runner, finishing behind the Mariners' top five. He claimed First Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season.
Sophomore Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.) was next across the line for Farmingdale State in 15th place at 28:21.6, followed by freshman Aiden Carrington (East Setauket, N.Y.) who took 20th in 28:54.4.
Freshman Gavin Calvo (Mastic, N.Y.) finished 22nd with a 29:18.0, while sophomore Aaron Rivera (Levittown, N.Y.) placed 28th in 30:23.0 to round out the team's scoring five.
Freshman George Deleg (Forest Hills, N.Y.) and junior Max Reilly (Bethpage, N.Y.) finished 43rd and 45th, respectively, while freshman Thomas Galante (Massapequa, N.Y.) placed 55th. The FSC men totaled 76 points to secure third place behind U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (15) and St. Joseph's-Long Island (58).
On the women's side, Vitale continued her impressive rookie season by placing fifth overall in the 6k race with a time of 25:25.4, earning First Team All-Conference honors.
Sophomore Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) finished 19th in 27:53.0, while freshman Emily Graziano (East Islip, N.Y.) took 22nd in 29:07.5.
Junior Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y.) crossed in 30:59.5 for 38th place and junior Mishell Delgado (Bronx, N.Y.) was the team's fifth scorer, placing 58th in 33:31.7. Seniors Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Kimberlyn David (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) finished 64th and 67th, respectively.
The Farmingdale State women finished fourth as a team with 139 points, behind Sarah Lawrence (61), U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (69), and SUNY Maritime (115).
