STONY BROOK, N.Y. | Farmingdale State junior
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) placed second overall at the Golden Eagle Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning, leading the men to a second-place team finish behind host St. Joseph's-Long Island. The FSC women's team placed eighth in the event.Â
Aguilar completed the 8k race in in 28:22.10, finishing just one-tenth of a second behind Molloy's Peter Bagattine and was the top Division III runner.
Farmingdale State freshman
Matthew Misciagna (Hauppauge, N.Y.) took 15th out of 93 runners in 29:29.80, followed by sophomore
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, CT), who placed 19th in 29:58.10.
Freshman
Gavin Calvo (Mastic, N.Y. - 30:53.80) and juniorÂ
Max Reilly (Bethpage, N.Y. - 31:10.70) finished 27th and 28th, respectively, while freshman
Aiden Carrington (East Setauket, N.Y.) tallied 30th in 31:21.80.
In the women's 5k, freshman
Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the Rams with a 12th place finish in 21:44.40 as she was the second-best Skyline competitor.
Sophomore
Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) followed in 18th place in a time of 22:33.10, while freshman
Emily Graziano (East Islip, N.Y.) crossed the finish line in 25:28.30 to place third among FSC runners.
Following a weekend off, the Rams return to action on Sunday, September 28th to compete at the Queensborough Cross Country Invitational held at Van Courtlandt Park in the Bronx.
