COMPLETE RESULTS
NEWARK, N.J. | The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NJIT XC Invitational on Saturday morning at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J. The women's team finished fifth out of 12 competing schools, while the men took seventh of 17 teams.
In the women's 5k race, freshman Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the Rams with a 13th-place finish in 21:00.1, while sophomore Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) earned 29th in 22:47.5.
Freshman Emily Graziano (East Islip, N.Y.) crossed in 24:37.2, followed by junior Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y.) at 24:57.8 and senior Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.) in 27:44.9 to close out the women's scoring.
The men's team was led by junior Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) with a ninth-place finish in 26:40.2, marking his third consecutive top-10 performance. He was the second Division III finisher as Army West Point recorded the top-six times.
Sophomore Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.) followed in 40th place with a time of 28:21.5, while freshmen Gavin Calvo (Mastic, N.Y. - 56th) and Aiden Carrington (East Setauket, N.Y. - 62nd) finished in 29:21.1 and 29:44.0, respectively. Sophomore Aaron Rivera (Levittown, N.Y.) rounded out the team's top five in 30:01.1.
The FSC cross country teams will next compete at the SJLI Invitational on Saturday, October 18th, at Sunken Meadow State Park.
