Cross Country and Track & Field Teams Volunteer at Spooky Fest

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State cross country and track & field teams spent Halloween giving back to the community by volunteering at the annual Spooky Fest event hosted by the Center for Science Teaching & Learning (CSTL) in Rockville Centre.

The event, which combines family-friendly fun with festive frights, featured a variety of themed stations and activities. FSC student-athletes assisted in nearly every aspect of the event from greeting guests at the entry table to leading families through the Enchanted Walk. They also helped at the craft and face-painting stations.

Some team members took on roles in the Haunted Woods, where they jumped out to give guests a scare, and others posed for photos as pirates, princes or princesses. In the Glow Tent, they also helped children make glowing slime.

"It was great to see our student-athletes come together and help create such a fun experience for kids and families," said Head Coach Daniela Georgieva. "The team really enjoyed being a part of an event that brought so much joy to people."
