COMPLETE SKYLINE CONFERENCE RELEASE
NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its 2024 women's tennis all-conference team Wednesday afternoon, and four student-athletes from Farmingdale State College were selected in voting by the sport's seven head coaches – including senior
Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.), who was chosen as Player of the Year.
Collings also earned a spot on the all-conference first team, while the FSC trio of juniors
MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and
Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.), along with sophomore
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) garnered second-team praise. Additionally, junior
Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline's All-Sportsmanship Team.
Now a four-time first-team selection in as many seasons with the Rams, Collings adds the Player of the Year award to her trophy case after a regular season in which she went 11-4 in top-flight singles play – including a perfect 6-0 mark against Skyline competition. She also has gone 11-4 in doubles play (5-1 Skyline), predominantly in the No. 2 slot, and enters the 2024 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship ranked fourth in school history with 44 career doubles victories, and tied for eighth with 38 singles wins.
Gisler and Jones have each earned their third second-team accolade across their respective three-year careers at Farmingdale State. Gisler enters conference tourney action with a 13-2 mark at the fourth singles flight, including a 12-match winning streak and a perfect 6-0 mark versus Skyline competitors. She has also been a perfect 6-0 in conference play in doubles thus far, including victories in her last four matches while teamed up with DeMaria.
Jones has compiled an 8-5 record in the third singles slot, including a 4-1 mark versus Skyline foes. She's partnered with Furchel this fall as the No. 1 doubles tandem, with the duo tallying an 8-6 mark overall and a 4-1 slate in conference competition.
Furchel follows up an all-conference nod as a rookie one year ago with second-team mention this fall. Overall in top-flight doubles, she has a 9-6 record (including one victory with Collings), and an identical mark as the Rams' second-flight singles player.
Farmingdale State is the No. 2 seed in this week's 2024 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship, and will play host to Purchase College in a Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. semifinal.
