FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's tennis team rounded out an undefeated Skyline Conference regular-season slate Monday night, as the Rams registered a 7-0 victory over visiting Mount Saint Vincent.
FSCÂ (9-4, 7-0 Skyline) is the top seed for this week's four-team 2025 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship, and will play host to fourth-seeded Yeshiva University in a 4:30 p.m. semifinal on Wednesday (Oct. 22).
The Rams swept through all three doubles points to go ahead of the Dolphins (1-8, 0-7) by a 1-0 count. Junior
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) and freshman
Martine McGowan (Port Washington, N.Y.) won their top-flight match after their opponents retired, before the second-flight duo of senior
MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and freshman
Kaelin Burnett (East Islip, N.Y.) captured a 6-0 decision over their UMSV counterparts. Rounding out the sweep was the third-flight tandem of senior
Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and junior
Marybeth Zimos (Hicksville, N.Y.), who carded a 6-4 victory.
Furchel also won her first singles match-up by retirement, before Gisler – who is now the Farmingdale State career doubles wins leader at 51 – and McGowan earned their team-high-tying ninth singles victories of the campaign with decisions in the third and second flights, respectively.
