FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's and women's tennis teams hosted Brooklyn College on Tuesday afternoon, each earning the non-conference victory. The men posted a 6-1 victory and close their fall schedule with a 3-2 record, while the women tallied a 7-0 shutout and improved to 8-4 overall.

Luisa Valencia (Huntington, N.Y.)Â were recognized for their dedication to the program on Senior Day.
The men rolled through doubles play, tallying a pair of 6-0 wins in the second and third flights. SophomoresÂ
Kwaku Agyeman (Middletown, N.Y.) and
Ty Williams (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) earned the win at No. 2 doubles, while classmate
Emil Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and freshman
Michael Lerman (Massapequa, N.Y.) secured the third match. Freshman
Zakaria Ahmed (Manhasset, N.Y.) and senior
Vansh Aggarwal (Mumbai, India) added a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, giving the Rams the 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
The teams played an 8-game pro set throughout singles competition with the Rams sweeping matches No. 2 through No. 6. Agyeman (8-1) took third singles followed by Williams (8-6) in the second slot and Lerman (8-2) in the third match. After Brooklyn captured the top-flight match, freshman
Jake Pepitone (Carle Place, N.Y. - 8-0) earned a win in the sixth spot before Sabovic closed the match with an 8-3 victory at No. 5.
The women did not lose a single game in doubles play, sweeping all three matches, 6-0. Sophomore
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) and junior
Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) captured the No. 1 match, Collings and junior
Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) won the No. 2 match, and juniors
Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and
Rebecca Ness (Clintondale, N.Y.) took the third match.
The Rams cruised through singles, with Brooklyn not scoring more than four games in any pro set. Collings (8-0), Furchel (8-1) and junior
MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y. - 8-0) quickly clinched the match with wins in the first through third slots. Farmingdale State closed with wins by
Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y. - 8-4),
Heather McGullam (Hauppauge, N.Y. - 8-2) and Valencia (8-1) in the third through sixth positions to clinch the 7-0 win.
The FSC women will next return to Skyline Conference action when they travel to Purchase College on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00 a.m.
