FSC Men: 18th/32 teams (515 points); FSC Women: 30th/33 teams (803 points)
NEWARK, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College cross country teams traveled to Branch Brook Park on Saturday, competing in the NJIT Highlander Invitational. In a competition that featured a host institutions from across all three NCAA Divisions, the Rams' men's contingent placed 18th, while the women's side checking in with a 30th-place showing.
FSC's men's squad was led by freshman
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.), as he completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 28:37.4. Sophomore
Gabriel Bar Kochva (Bethpage, N.Y.) was next across the finish line for the Rams with a time of 29:55.7, while senior
Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) followed with a 30:30.4 time on the 8k loop.
The 5,000-meter women's competition saw Farmingdale State junior
Kimberlyn David (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) finish with a time of 27:26.1 to pace the green and white. The Rams' sophomore duo of
Precious Akahara (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and
Mishell Delgado (Bronx, N.Y.) crossed the line in succession, clocking times of 29:41.1 and 29:48.5, respectively.
In Farmingdale State's final meet before the Skyline Conference Championships (Nov. 3), the teams will take to the course at Sunken Meadow State Park (Kings Park, N.Y.) on Oct. 19 for the St. Joseph's-Long Island Invitational.Â
