Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned their second consecutive win with a 4-2 non-conference victory over The College of Staten Island on Monday. The Rams improved to 2-3 on the year, while the Dolphins fell to 0-6.
Farmingdale State opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.). Only 5:47 later, Staten Island junior midfielder Ilir Papraniku (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded a goal to even the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.
Less than four minutes into the second half, freshman forward Richard Mastrangelo III (Dix Hills, N.Y.) gathered his own rebound and scored to put FSC ahead, 2-1.
With 8:13 left on the clock, FSC increased their lead to 3-1 on a Sebastian Ramirez (Central Islip, N.Y.) goal as J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) recorded the assist. Each team would add a late score as the Rams earned the 4-2 non-conference road victory.
Junior goalkeeper Kevin Gordillo (Flushing, N.Y.) had five saves in the win for Farmingdale State.
The Rams next will head to Purchase for their Skyline Conference opener on Saturday, September 19th at noon.
