Box Score Purchase - 5, Farmingdale State - 4
Purchase, N.Y. - In a Skyline Conference men's tennis match last night, Farmingdale State fell, 5-4, at Purchase. The Rams now stand at 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the Skyline, while the Panthers improved to 7-2, 5-1.
The pair of Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) and Chris Hunter (Melville, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 victory in the #1 doubles position for Farmingdale State. The Rams fell in second doubles and Karuppiah Karuppiah (Trichy, India) and Aravind Mahalingam (Hyderabad, India) lost a close third doubles match, 9-8 (8-6).
At first singles, Hunter tallied a 6-3, 6-0 victory, while Danzy recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win in the second position. Junior Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) won the third point for FSC in singles play with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win in the #3 slot. The Rams were unable to win any of the #4, #5 or #6 matches and fell, 5-4 at Purchase.
Farmingdale State next will play host to St. Joe's in a conference match on Friday, April 17th at 4:30 p.m.
