Box Score Farmingdale State - 7, St. Joseph's - 2
Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned a 7-2 Skyline Conference win at St. Joseph's on Wednesday afternoon. The Rams improved to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in conference action, while the Golden Eagles fell to 4-3, 1-2.
Farmingdale State earned one point in doubles competition as juniors Jimmy Lopez (Medford, N.Y.) and Brian Heinlein (Patchogue, N.Y.) earned an 8-6 victory in the third position.
In singles play, the Rams swept and earned all six points. Freshman Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) won 6-1, 6-1 in the #1 slot, while senior Judd Bahoui (Long Beach, N.Y.) earned a 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 7-6 (8-6) victory in the #2 position.
At third singles, sophomore Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) defeated Tom O'Keefe 6-2, 7-6 (12-10) and Heinlein won 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in the fourth position. Lopez (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and freshman Cajetan Ferrao (6-1, 6-1) (Flushing, N.Y.) rounded out the singles sweep for Farmingdale State.
The Rams next will host Ramapo in a non-conference match on Thursday, April 17th at 5:00 p.m.
