Bronx, N.Y. - In their first match of the spring season, Farmingdale State earned a 9-0 shutout victory over Sarah Lawrence on Sunday afternoon. The Rams are now 1-1 on the year, while the Gryphons are 0-1.
In singles competition, freshman Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.), sophomore Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.), junior Brian Heinlein (Patchogue, N.Y.) and freshman Cajetan Ferrao (Flushing, N.Y.) all earned 10-0 victories. Freshman Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned a 10-1 win in the fourth position and junior Jimmy Lopez (Medford, N.Y.) tallied an 8-2 victory at fifth singles.
Danzy and Beaubrun teamed up for an 8-3 win in #1 doubles, while Lopez and Palacios paired for an 8-2 win in the #2 slot. Senior Rommel Enriquez (Bethpage, N.Y.) and freshman Daniel Brandman (Kings Park, N.Y.) capped off the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win.
Farmingdale State next will face John Jay in a road non-conference match on Saturday, March 15th.
