Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team opened the season on Friday afternoon and defeated John Jay College, 7-2, in a non-conference match. The Rams will now host Hunter College tomorrow, Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m.
After taking a 2-1 lead in doubles play, the Rams won five of their sixth singles matches (with one match retired).
Senior Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and junior Steven Ferrantello (Dix Hills, N.Y.) each recorded two wins yesterday, at #2 doubles and in their singles match, leading their team to a 1-0 start.
