Rams Place Second at Golden Eagle

Middle Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State
men's golf team finished in second place at the Golden Eagle
Invitational hosted by St. Joseph's College.
Junior Chris Arnold (Hauppague, N.Y./Hauppague) led the Rams
with a team-best 77. Arnold rebounded after recording a triple
bogey seven on the first hole. Freshman Adam Larkin (Bellmore,
N.Y./Mepham) made the turn at five over par and shot 38 on the back
nine for a 79. Freshman Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside)
carded an 81 and sophomore Mike Rine (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa)
shot 83 in his first collegiate match.
Division I Manhattan College won the tournament with a team
total of 306. Farmingdale State finished in second place and
Purchase College took third. Host school St. Joseph's College
finished in fourth place despite having a player disqualified for
signing an incorrect scorecard.
The Rams next will play in the Purchase College Invitational at
Old Oaks Country Club on Tuesday, September 21st.
