WINDSOR, CTÂ | The Farmingdale State College men's golf team opened play at the Trinity (Conn.)/Hartford Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Keney Park Golf Club, carding a team score of 299 (+19) in the opening round of the two-day event. The Rams sit in 12th place out of 14 competing teams heading into Sunday's final round, with Division I Hofstra leading the pack with a score of 278 (-2).
Freshman Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.) led FSC with a one-over par 71 and sits in 11th place individually after the first 18 holes. Connolly recorded a 37 on the front nine before closing with a one-under 34 on the back nine.
Sophomore Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded a round of 74 (+4) and is currently in 33rd place overall.
Freshman Luke Grebinar (Leominster, Mass.) and junior Luke O'Grady-Rodgers (Carmel, N.Y.) each carded rounds of 77 (+7) and are tied for 55th place individually.
Junior Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) rounded out the Rams' lineup with a 79 (+9) and is currently in 66th place overall.
Hank Kancher of Hofstra fired a seven-under 63 on day one and leads the individual leaderboard.
The tournament concludes Sunday, April 5th, with the second and final round of the Trinity (Conn.)/Hartford Invitational at Keney Park Golf Club.
