UNION, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College track & field teams opened their 2026 outdoor season at the Kean University Cougars Distance Carnival on Thursday evening.
On the men's side, juniors
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) and
Matthew Rintoul (Lake Grove, N.Y.) recorded victories. Aguilar won the 1500m in 4:23.00, while Rintoul captured first in the 800m with a time of 2:02.28.
Sophomore
Aaron Rivera (Levittown, N.Y.) placed second in the 1500m with a time of 4:32.30. SophomoreÂ
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn. - 4:42.10) and freshman
Gavin Calvo (Mastic, N.Y. - 4:43.00) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Junior
Gianni Nino (Wantagh, N.Y. - 2:11.74) and sophomore
Samyr Chrispin (Westbury, N.Y. - 2:14.23) took fourth and fifth in the 800m.
In the 5000m, junior
Max Reilly (Bethpage, N.Y.) finished fourth in 17:44.67.
Sophomore
Davian Rodriguez (West Islip, N.Y.) was FSC's top performer in the men's 400m with a time of 57.06, good for 10th place out of 32 competitors. SophomoreÂ
John Juste (Uniondale, N.Y.) registered 14th in 58.33.
On the women's side, freshman
Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) earned second place in the 800m in 2:33.73.
In the 400m, sophomore
Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with a third place time of 1:02.16. Her time is the sixth fastest mark in program history. Junior
Ifeoluwa Longe (Roosevelt, N.Y.) earned seventh in 1:06.00 and senior
Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.) placed ninth in 1:06.95.
Finally, freshman
Sofia Mereles (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) produced second place in the 1500m in 7:45.83.
Farmingdale State's outdoor track & field teams will next compete at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 4th.
