FARMINGDALE, N.Y. |Â The Skyline Conference and New Jersey Athletic Conference released their weekly winter sports reports Monday night, and Farmingdale State College seniors
Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) and
Alexandria Walbroehl (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) received men's and women's basketball honorable mention praise, respectively, from the Skyline.
Men's Basketball (18-3, 11-1 Skyline)Â |Â Skyline Report
FSC captured an 85-74 victory over previous Skyline once-beaten Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday night, before running past Old Westbury on Alumni Day on Saturday, 91-58. The Rams are four games ahead of the competition in the conference's Black Division with as many games left in the regular season, and finishing atop the division would give Farmingdale State at least the No. 2 seed for the upcoming eight-team Skyline Conference Championship.
Conroy, who also received an honorable mention nod from the
Met Basketball Writers Association, averaged 21 points and 5 assists per game over the stretch, while shooting better than 61 percent from the field and 57 percent from 3-point land.
The Rams travel to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn for a 6 p.m. tip-off Tuesday night, before traveling to St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday at 1.
Women's Basketball (11-10, 9-7 Skyline)Â |Â Skyline Report
Walbroehl's career-high-tying 23-point, 14-rebound effort helped Farmingdale State to a resounding 86-55 victory at Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday night, helping her team to split the season series with the Gryphons in the process.
The Rams play host to Yeshiva on Tuesday night at 6, before welcoming St. Joseph's-Long Island on "Senior Day," Saturday at noon.
