FULL GCAA RELEASE
NORMAN, OK | The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the 2024-25 All-America Scholars for NCAA Division III on Tuesday, and Farmingdale State seniors
Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.) and
Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.), along with sophomore
Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.), have each been named Scholar All-Americans.
This marks the third consecutive Scholar All-American honor for Kim, while Castaldy and Douglas become just the third and fourth student-athletes in program history to earn the award.
Kim, who was recently named SUNY Scholar Athlete of the Year and selected to the CSC All-District team, tallied a 75.75 stroke average across his 24 rounds this season. His play helped the Rams to their fifth-straight Skyline Conference title, and he earned First Team All-Conference honors in the process. A two-time GCAA All-Region selection, Kim was one stroke shy of making the cut as an individual at the NCAA Division III Championship in May.
Castaldy recorded a team-best 75.54 stroke average during the 2024-25 season, earning both First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors. His season-low round came at the FSC Spring Invitational, where he fired a one-under-par 69. In 2022, Castaldy became just the second individual in school history to make the cut at the NCAA Championship and he followed by helping Farmingdale State make the team cut last spring for the first time since 2010.
Douglas joined Castaldy on both the GCAA All-Region and First Team All-Skyline Conference lists after posting a 75.58 stroke average over 24 rounds this season. He led the team with eight top-10 finishes this year and now holds a career scoring average of 75.61 through two seasons, the third lowest mark in program history.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
202 NCAA Division III athletes from 78 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
