FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Backed by a program-record round of 282 (2-over-par) on Sunday, the Farmingdale State College golf team wrapped up the two-day FSC Spring Invitational on the Bethpage State Park Red Course tied for second place out of 16 teams (287-282–569).

The Rams finished tied at 9-over-par for the weekend with the University of Rochester – the first team listed in the "others receiving votes" category in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Poll – as the two programs finished one shot behind receiving-votes Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. No. 6 Huntingdon (+12), receiving-votes NYU (+18) and 20th-ranked Babson (+19) rounded out the top six in the highly competitive field. Farmingdale State's 2-over-par round on Sunday was the second-best score of the day, finishing one stroke behind RPI.

Sophomore Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) and senior Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) finished the weekend tied for fifth at 1-over-par, with Douglas notching birdies on two of Sunday's final three holes to finish the round at an even-par 70.

Sophomore CJ Merritt (Plainview, N.Y.) tied a career-best with his 3-under round of 67 on Sunday to complete the invitational tied for 11th (3-over, 143), while junior James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) rounded out FSC's scoring quartet at 8-over-par – including Sunday's 3-over round of 73.

Freshman Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) competed as an individual on the weekend, and wrapped up play tied for 28th at 8-over.

Farmingdale State returns to the course Friday (April 25), when it competes in the Old Westbury Invitational on Bethpage Blue against the eight other Skyline Conference schools.
