NEW LONDON, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College indoor track and field teams competed Friday night at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy's Bear Invite, with the men's contingent placing third (84 pts.) and the women's side eighth (10).

The meet served as the Rams' final tune-up before the 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place Feb. 22-23 (Sat.-Sun.) in Philadelphia.

Two men's field competitors placed first in their respective events, with sophomore Adonias Mercado (Hillsdale, N.Y.) capturing the shot put with a regional-qualifying mark of 14.50 meters (47-7), while junior Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) won the triple jump with a leap of 14.10m (46-3.25).

On the track, freshman Davian Rodriguez (West Islip, N.Y.) broke the tape in the 55-meter hurdles with a winning time of 8.18 seconds (tied for ninth in school history), while the 4x400 meter relay team of Samuel Aladegboungbe (Jr.; Bay Shore, N.Y.), Isaiah Harrilal (So.; Deer Park, N.Y.), Nathaniel White (Fr.; Mamaroneck, N.Y.) and Dontay Taylor (Jr.; St. Vincent and the Grenadines) paced the field with their 3:31.83 performance.

In women's action, freshman sprinter Bryanna Edwards (Bay Shore, N.Y.) placed in the top-five in both the 55-meter (7.63, fourth) and 200-meter (27.76, fifth), before running the anchor leg on the fourth-place 4x200 meter relay team (1:54.94) of Olivia Finnegan (Sr.; Massapequa, N.Y.), Ifeoluwa Longe (So.; Roosevelt, N.Y.) and Alexxis McNeil (Sr.; Valley Stream, N.Y.).
