COMPLETE CSC RELEASE
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | College Sports Communicators released its 2025 edition of the Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Teams Tuesday afternoon, and a Farmingdale State College team-record four student-athletes were recognized for their combination of academics and athletics: sophomore defensive specialist
Samantha DiBiasi (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.); senior libero
Delaney Keegan (Lake Grove, N.Y.); senior setter
Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.); and sophomore outside hitter
Samantha Russo (Bay Shore, N.Y.).
Additionally, Rende was selected to advance onto the ballot for Academic All-America consideration, as voted on by the CSC membership. The 2025 edition of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Women's Volleyball Team is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, January 13.
DiBiasi, an Applied Psychology major, was primarily used as a serving specialist in her sophomore season. She was one of five Rams to play in all 25 matches, and ranked third on the team (behind Rende and Russo) with 31 service aces.Â
A Business Management major, Keegan played a large role in the team's back-row defense after shifting into the libero position one-quarter of the way through the season. Her career-best 329 digs led FSC, while her 3.92 per-set average was the sixth-highest mark in the Skyline Conference. Keegan registered 29 aces at the service line in her senior season, while her .946 receiving percentage was the top mark of any libero in the conference.
Rende, a Science, Technology and Society major, is now a two-time Academic All-District selection and was named to the All-Skyline Conference First Team in 2025. She ranked second in the Skyline Conference with an average of 8.65 assists per set, while her 744 assists on the campaign are the second-most in single-season program history. A two-time winner of the Skyline's Elite 19 Award in as many seasons of its existence for holding the highest grade point average of any student-athlete in the conference championship field, Rende tops the FSC career leaderboard with an average of 8.02 assists per set, while also sitting second with 2,022 assists – the most of a three-year player and just 126 behind Megan Pisciotta (2012-15) for the top mark.
Also a Science, Technology and Society major, Russo was named to the All-Skyline Conference First Team for the second time in as many seasons as a collegian. She tallied 250 points in her sophomore season, with her 3.68 points per set average ranking third in the Skyline, while landing 43 service aces and passing 239 digs. Through two years as a student-athlete, Russo ranks second at Farmingdale State with a career average of 3.59 digs per set (the top mark of any non-defensive specialist), and sixth with a 2.85 kills per set average.
