FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team wrapped up regular season play with a 3-0 home victory over Yeshiva on Wednesday evening in Skyline Conference action. The Rams won by set scores of 25-6, 25-8, and 25-5 to improve to 16-8 overall and 8-3 in the Skyline, clinching the No. 4 seed in next week's conference playoffs.
Freshman middle blocker Emily Chiappetta (Farmingville, N.Y.) led the Rams with six kills on nine attempts for a .667 hitting percentage, while sophomore setter Jessica Farrell (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) dished out 10 assists and added five service aces. Sophomore outside hitter Samantha Russo (Bay Shore, N.Y.) tallied three kills, four service aces, and two digs, and classmate Mackenzie Marquardt (Centereach, N.Y.) posted five kills and two aces in two sets played.
Sophomore middle blocker Caroline Lange (Shoreham, N.Y.) registered five kills and two blocks and freshman middle blocker Alana Henry (Amityville, N.Y.) hit .429 with five kills and one solo block. Freshman outside hitter Allison Marino (Merrimack, N.H.) added three kills and a service ace, while freshman Meaghan Grieco (Centereach, N.Y.) contributed two kills and a block assist.
Senior setter Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) totaled 14 assists, two service aces, and three digs, and junior defensive specialist Allison Salinas (Glen Cove, N.Y.) finished with a three service aces and five digs. Freshman libero Ashley Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.) recorded five digs and an assist, and junior outside hitter Sarah Kollarik (Levittown, N.Y.) added two kills and a dig.
Farmingdale State hit .364 as a team, producing 34 kills against just 10 errors on 66 total attacks.
With the win, Farmingdale State secured the No. 4 seed in next week's Skyline Conference Championship and will host fifth-seeded Sarah Lawrence in the first round on Tuesday, November 11th. Match time is to be announced.
