MIDDLETOWN, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College indoor track and field teams competed Saturday at the Wesleyan Indoor Invite, with the men's contingent taking four individual victories and one winning relay.
Junior sprinter
Dontay Taylor (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.05, while also placing fourth with a 7.17 showing in the 60-meter sprint. Classmate
Samuel Aladegboungbe (Bay Shore, N.Y.) broke the tape with his winning 50.99 time in the 400-meter dash, and teamed with Taylor, sophomore
Isaiah Harrilal (Deer Park, N.Y.) and freshman
Nathaniel White (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) to win the 4x400 meter relay with a 3:29.60 showing that was nearly five seconds better than the second-place finisher.
Junior
Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) won the triple jump with a personal-record mark of 14.31 meters (46-11.5) – good for the No. 5 mark on the NCAA Division III performance list – while also notching a personal best with his third-place leap of 6.52m (21-4.75) in the long jump. Rounding out FSC's top field event placements was a winning leap of 1.90 meters in the high jump by freshman
Aaron Matos (East Meadow, N.Y.).
In women's action, freshman
Bryanna Edwards (Bay Shore, N.Y.) placed second in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 8.12, with senior
Sydnee Simmons (Uniondale, N.Y.) checking in with a third-place time of 1:05.14 in the 400-meter dash. Freshman thrower
Victoria DeGraw (Kerhonkson, N.Y.) placed fourth and sixth in the weight throw (12.43m; 40-9.5) and shot put (10.90m; 35-9.25), respectively.
The Rams are back in competition Feb. 7 (Fri.), when they travel to New London, Conn., for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Winter Invite No. 2 competition. The meet will mark FSC's last competition prior to the Feb. 22-23, New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship in Philadelphia.
