RESULTS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. | The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track and field teams traveled to Southern Connecticut State University for the William Sutherland Invite on Saturday evening and tallied four individual victories.
Junior sprinter
Dontay Taylor (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) picked up FSC's first win in the men's 200m dash. He tallied a time of 22.82 as he cruised the victory with the runner-up posting a time of 23.01. Taylor also competed in the 55m dash and recorded a career-best time of 6.67, good for ninth place.Â
Freshman
Nathaniel White (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) was victorious in the 400m with his time of 53.14. Sophomore
Isaiah Harrilal (Deer Park, N.Y.) took second in the event in 54.06.
Farmingdale State 2024 All-American pole vaulter,
Nicholas Lourenco (Bay Shore, N.Y.), made his season debut on Saturday and produced a height of 4.45m (14' 7.25") to take home the win. He qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Championships with the mark.
The Rams final victory came from triple jumper
Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.), who earned the win for the second consecutive meet. He registered 13.54m (44' 5.25") and placed first among 10 competitors.
Other notable finishes for the men include freshmen Emmanuel Edusah (Brentwood, N.Y.), who was runner-up in the 800m with a time of 2:13.14, andÂ
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.), who was second in the 3000m with a time of 10:09.96.
In addition, freshman
Aaron Matos (East Meadow, N.Y.) took third in the high jump with a mark of 1.85m (6' 0.75"), while senior
Timothy Folarin (Elmont, N.Y.) was FSC's second best sprinter (behind Taylor) in both the 55m (6.72) and 200m (23.62) dashes.
On the women's side, freshman
Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) placed second in the 400m in 64.01. She now ranks eighth all-time on FSC's top-10 list for the event.
Finally, freshman
Bryanna Edwards (Bay Shore, N.Y.) continued her strong season with fourth place finishes in both the 55m (7.57) and 200m (28.14). Classmate
Victoria DeGraw (Kerhonkson, N.Y.) took home fifth in the shot put with a length of 10.85m (35' 7.25").
The Rams will next compete in the Coast Guard Academy Winter Invite on Saturday, January 18th.
