COMPLETE SKYLINE CONFERENCE RELEASE
NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its 2023 women's volleyball all-conference team Tuesday afternoon, and Farmingdale State College had three student-athletes named to the squad – including senior middle blocker
Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Hts., N.Y.), who was named Co-Player of the Year.
Ricketts was named to the All-Skyline Conference First Team for the third time in as many seasons in a Rams uniform, while junior middle
Mikayla Profeta (W. Islip, N.Y.) and freshman setter
Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) received second-team recognition.
The Skyline's Co-Rookie of the Year in 2021 and an Academic All-District selection by College Sports Communications one year ago, Ricketts led the conference in kills (4.19) and points (4.69) per set in 2023, ranking 14th and 21st in Division III, respectively. The senior's .239 hitting percentage ranked third in the Skyline, and she tied a school single-match record with her 28 kills against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Oct. 24.
Profeta is also a three-time All-Skyline selection, having collected first-team honors in 2021 and garnered second-team accolades in 2022. She ranked statistically on the conference leaderboard in four categories: service aces per set (third, 0.68 – No. 53 nationally); points per set (eighth, 3.51); hitting percentage (ninth, .210); and kills per set (12th, 2.57). Profeta's 54 aces at the service line were the team-high mark for the second season in a row.
Rende, a three-time Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week selection, ranked third in the Skyline with an average of 7.66 assists per set. Her 628 assists on the year are the fifth-highest single-season mark in program history, while she ranked second and third on the Rams in digs (156) and service aces (37), respectively.
