Men's Team with Seven Personal Bests
New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track team opened the new year at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday, January 10th at the New Balance Track & Field Center. The men's team set seven new personal bests and moved up on multiple All-Time lists.
Freshmen
Donte McArthur (Hempstead, N.Y.) and
Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) each set two personal bests. McArthur placed 13th in the Triple Jump at a distance of 12.95m (42' 6") and moved to #5 on the FSC All-Time list with a time of 9.14 in the 60m Hurdles. Schmidt finished 15th in the Weight Throw with a toss of 10.52m (34' 6 1/4"), along with 27th in the Shot Put at 11.07m (36' 4").
Sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) cleared 12' 7" in the Pole Vault, moving him to #9 on the All-Time list.
In the 60-meters, senior Steven Renteria (West Babylon, N.Y.) and sophomore James D'onofrio (West Babylon, N.Y.) both finished in 7.29 and now stand tied at #3 on the All-Time list.
