Rams Fall to Keystone in Second Game of Regionals

 Auburn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State baseball team fell, 6-2, to third-seeded Keystone in the second game of the NCAA Regionals this afternoon at Falcon Park in Auburn, N.Y. The Rams will play #4 Brockport State in an elimination game later today at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Farmingdale State (27-16) got on the board first as sophomore right fielder Terrence Bohonan (Patchogue, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly which scored sophomore David Zilnicki (Riverhead, N.Y.) in the bottom of the first.

In the third, Zilnicki reached base with a two-out walk and later stole second. Bohonan singled through the left side, scoring Zilnicki and putting the Rams ahead 2-0.

Keystone scored three runs on three hits in the top of the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. The Giants added an unearned run in the eighth and two more in the ninth en route to a 6-2 victory.

The Rams were led by Zilnicki who was 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Bohonan was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI. Junior starting pitcher C.J. Bula (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) allowed two earned runs over 4.1 innings of work.

Senior shortstop Lance Ratchford (Oneonta, N.Y.) was 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored, while seniors Bryan Henry (Columbus, N.J.) and Andy Vega (Glen Head, N.Y.) each had two hits and 2 RBI for the Giants.
