FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | D3baseball.com announced its 2026 All-America Team on Thursday morning, and Farmingdale State College senior outfielder
Richie Heyder (Holbrook, N.Y.) became the first-ever Rams player to receive First Team praise.
Additionally, Thursday night the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings named Heyder to their All-America Second Team – the highest such honor in Farmingdale State team history. He also was named the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Division III Player of the Year on Friday morning.
Heyder, the D3baseball.com Region 3 and Skyline Conference Player of the Year, is the seventh All-American in FSC program history in its NCAA era. A three-time All-Skyline selection in as many seasons with the team, he led all three NCAA divisions in 2026 with a .608 on-base percentage. AÂ 2025 Academic All-District and All-Region First Team honoree, Heyder ranked second in Division III in OPS (1.505), third in slugging percentage (.897), seventh in batting average (.470), eighth in walks per game (1.05), 17th in doubles per game (0.49), 23rd in total walks (39), and 33rd in doubles (18).
Heyder, who went 4-for-8 with two home runs during the Rams' stint in the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship (the program's Skyline Conference-record 10th appearance in the tournament), led the Skyline in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, doubles, and walks. He also ranked third in runs scored (47), fifth in hits (55) and sixth in RBI (43).
Through three seasons in a green and white uniform, Heyder holds Farmingdale State career records in batting average (.426), slugging percentage (.705), on-base percentage (.521), doubles (40) and intentional walks (11), while holding top-10 rankings in the following categories: home runs (second, 15); total bases (second, 265); runs (third, 110); walks (third, 73); hits (fourth, 160); and triples (T-eighth, 10).
Farmingdale State went 27-11 in 2026, and captured its record 10th Skyline Conference Championship. The Rams also posted a school-record 21 game winning streak on their way to winning their second-consecutive conference title.
