FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | College Sports Communicators announced its 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball Team on Tuesday, and Farmingdale State College senior outfielder
Richie Heyder (Holbrook, N.Y.) was honored for his success on the field and in the classroom for the second time in as many seasons.
Additionally, Heyder has been selected to move onto the Academic All-America® ballot. Voting for that award will take place within the CSC membership over the next week, and the 2026 Academic All-America Baseball Team will be announced on Tuesday, June 23.
Heyder became the first-ever Rams player selected to the
D3baseball.com All-America First Team last week, and the seventh FSC All-American overall, after earning D3baseball.com Region 3 and Skyline Conference Player of the Year honors shortly after the season ended. He posted some of the top numbers in the country, including a .608 on-base percentage is the top mark in any of the NCAA's three divisions. Heyder ranks second in Division III in OPS (1.505), third in slugging percentage (.897), seventh in batting average (.470), eighth in walks per game (1.05), 17th in doubles per game (0.49), 23rd in total walks (39), and 33rd in doubles (18). He went 4-for-8 with two home runs during the Rams' stint in the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship (the program's Skyline Conference-record 10th appearance in the tournament), and led the Skyline in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, doubles, and walks. Heyder also ranked third in the conference in runs scored (47), fifth in hits (55) and sixth in RBI (43).
Through three seasons in a green and white uniform, Heyder holds Farmingdale State career records in batting average (.426), slugging percentage (.705), on-base percentage (.521), doubles (40) and intentional walks (11), while holding top-10 rankings in the following categories:Â home runs (second, 15); total bases (second, 265); runs (third, 110); walks (third, 73); hits (fourth, 160); and triples (T-eighth, 10).
Farmingdale State College went 27-11 in 2026, including a 16-4 record in Skyline Conference play. Head coach
Keith Osik's Rams posted their record 10th Skyline Conference Championship, and their 21-game winning streak through the conference tourney is the longest in program history. FSC's 27 victories this spring are tied for the fifth most in the program's NCAA era.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
