Box Score Rams Cruise to Victory over NYU-Poly

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory today against conference opponent NYU-Poly. The Rams are now 6-1 overall, 5-0 in the Skyline, while Poly falls to 3-4, 1-3 in the conference.
Farmingdale State led 3-0 after doubles play with an 8-0 shutout by #2 doubles tandem Alex Bessarabov and Theo Gioles. At #3 doubles, the freshmen team of Joseph Falcetta (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Bradley Smith (Mineola, N.Y.) won 8-4.
In singles play, freshman Christian Bormann (Huntington, N.Y.) defeated the 2010 Skyline Conference Player of the Year - Yan Krasny, by a score of 7-6 (7-3), 6-1. Bormann is now 5-2 at #1 singles this season and 6-1 overall at #1 doubles with senior teammate Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y.). Bormann and Passarella posted an 8-2 win today at #1 doubles.
The Rams stand in first place in the conference and will next host John Jay College in a non-conference match on Tuesday, April 12th at 4:00 p.m.
