EWING, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team traveled to The College of New Jersey Sunday afternoon for a non-conference match, falling to the host Lions by a 7-0 score.
TCNJ (6-4) swept all three doubles matches to go up 1-0 on the Rams (2-3), with the visitors' top-flight tandem of freshman
Devan Melandro (Syosset, N.Y.) and sophomore
Zakaria Ahmed (Manhasset, N.Y.) winning three games in their match.
In singles action, Melandro played to a 6-4 second set in his top-flight match versus TCNJ's Alberto Thomas, while sophomore
Michael Lerman (Massapequa, N.Y.) posted the same score in his first set at the fourth flight against Aidan Twamley. FSC freshman
Henri Pothier (Montgomery, N.Y.) competed against Tomas Velez in the No. 5 position, falling by a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
Farmingdale State is back into Skyline Conference play on Wednesday afternoon (April 1), when it plays host to the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 4:30 p.m. in a rematch of last season's Skyline Conference Championship final.
