Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) threw her first career no-hitter, striking
out four batters and walking two, as the Rams took an 11-0 victory.
Sophomore center fielder Kaitlin Keenan (West Islip, N.Y./West
Islip) went 3-for-3 with two RBI's and three runs scored on two
singles and a triple, while junior shortstop Nicole Farber
(Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) was 2-for-2 with two homeruns for five
RBI's and three runs scored. Sophomore Aubrey Walker (West Babylon,

freshman designated hitter Megan Kirchmeier (Hauppauge,
N.Y./Hauppauge) and sophomore left fielder Rebecca Richman (West
Islip, N.Y./West Islip) each singled in the game.
Game Two
The second game featured three homeruns to change the lead. Poly
went up 1-0 in the first after an RBI double by Smith and added two
runs in the second to take the 3-0 lead. In the top of the fourth,
Farber walked and Walker followed with a two-run homer to cut the
Rams deficit to 3-2. Freshman rightfielder Liz Escobar (West
Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) walked and freshman third baseman
Kristen Flint (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) doubled, while freshman
catcher Jen Jarczynski (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) hit a two
RBI single to give the Rams the 4-3 advantage.
In the bottom of the fourth, two singles would put two runners
on, before Fitzgibbons hit a three run homerun to give Poly another
lead, 6-4. Farmingdale responded in their next at-bat. Farber was
intentionally walked and Walker walked, before Escobar homered to
left to score three runs and give the Rams a 7-6 lead.
No runs were scored in the sixth and the Rams held the lead
until the bottom of the seventh when Poly scored on a single to
leftfield and a play at the plate would save the game-winning run
from scoring. In the eighth, Farmingdale was unable to score but
Poly would take the 8-7 victory on a single by Stockinger.
