Rams Shutout Sage in First Conference Match

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Skyline Conference with a 9-0 victory today. The Rams will host John Jay College on Monday, March 22nd at 4:00pm.

In doubles play, junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Holy Cross) and sophomore Theo Gioles (Wantagh, N.Y./Seaford) posted an 8-0 victory at first doubles. At #2 doubles, freshman Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and junior Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) also posted an 8-0 score.

Passarella got a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, as well as Bessarabov at second singles, Gioles at third singles, freshman Adrian Summerlin (Riverhead, N.Y./Riverhead) at 5th singles and sophomore Michael D'Agostaro (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) at sixth singles. Senior Joe Hotzak (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown) won 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles.
