FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2026 seasons at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite on Friday at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. The men finished 11th out of 19 competing teams, while the women placed 15th out of 18 schools. The meet featured NCAA Division I, II and III programs, with Cornell winning both the women's 6k and men's 8k races.

Freshman Julia Vitello (Webster, N.Y.) led the women with a 75th-place finish out of 120 competitors in the 6k race in 29:18.1. Classmate Sophie Brady (Athens, N.Y.) followed in 84th place in 31:19.3.

Freshman Ciara Cromie (Levittown, N.Y.) crossed in 88th in 32:17.0, while Star Mensah (Bronx, N.Y.) was 95th in 34:23.4.

On the men's side, senior Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) led the Rams with a 79th-place finish out of 157 student-athletes in the 8k race in 30:13.4, averaging 6:05 per mile. Freshman Zachary Weiss (West Hempstead, N.Y.) finished 80th in 30:26.4.

Junior Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.) recorded 89th in 31:26.2, while junior Aaron Rivera (Levittown, N.Y.) was 91st in 31:29.9.

The FSC cross country teams will next compete at the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday, September 12th.
