KINGS PARK, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams competed at the St. Joseph's-Long Island Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park on Saturday with the men finishing in third and the women earning 10th place.
Junior
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) led the men in the 8k race with a fifth-place finish in 28:38.1. He tallied an average mile of 5:45.6.
Sophomore
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.) was 17th in 30:20.6, while freshman
Gavin Calvo (Mastic, N.Y.) registered 20th in 30:48.0.
Freshman
Aiden Carrington (East Setauket, N.Y.) tallied 25th in 31:04.2 and sophomore
Max Reilly (Bethpage, N.Y.) recorded 47th in 33:16.1 for FSC, who finished with 112 points.
In the women's 5k, freshman Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the Rams with a seventh-place finish in 21:37.8.
Sophomore Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) finished 22nd in 23:25.9 and freshman Emily Graziano (East Islip, N.Y.) was 51st in 25:43.8.
Junior Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y. - 85th, 27:46.4) and senior Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y. - 115th, 30:04.3) rounded out the scoring for Farmingdale State as they ended with 238 points.
The Rams will next compete in the Skyline Conference Championship at Purchase College on Sunday, October 26th.Â
