FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College golf team fired a school-record round of 281 (+1) Saturday afternoon, as the Rams sit in a fourth-place tie following the first day of the FSC Spring Invitational at Bethpage State Park's Red Course.
The Rams' previous school record was 282, which the team set on the second day of competition at the 2025 edition of the FSC Spring Invitational.
No. 21 Babson leads the field entering Sunday's second and final round after carding a -7 as a team, while Bowdon College and 42nd-ranked Amherst College tallied scores of -3 and -1, respectively. Williams College sits tied with Farmingdale State to round out the top five team totals.Â
Babson's Chad Tordone is the individual leader after shooting a -5 round of 65.
For Farmingdale State, juniors
Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) and
Luke O'Grady-Rodgers (Carmel, N.Y.) both notched birdies on the 18th hole, and recorded rounds of 69 (-1, 11th place) and 70 (Even, T-19th place), respectively. Sophomore
Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) also carded a 70, with freshman
Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.) using an 18th-hole birdie to round out day one with a score of 72 (+2, 31st place).Â
Competing as an individual, senior
James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) scored a 74 (+4) on the day, with freshman
Luke Grebinar (Leominster, Mass.) finishing with a 75 (+5).
