FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's golf team hosted the FSC Bethpage Black Invitational on Thursday at Bethpage State Park's Black Course, finishing second in the eight-team field with a team score of 307 (+23).
Adelphi University captured the team title with a score of 304 (+20), while Hamilton College placed third at 311 (+27). Skidmore College finished fourth at 314 (+30), followed by New York University (316), Bowdoin College (318), and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (321).
Sophomore Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) led the Rams with a strong round of 74 (+3), finishing tied for third place in the 40-player field.
Junior Luke O'Grady-Rodgers (Carmel, N.Y.) posted a 77 (+6) to place tied for 11th, while freshmen Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.) and Luke Grebinar (Leominster, Mass.) each carded rounds of 78 (+7) to finish tied for 15th. Junior Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) rounded out the FSC lineup with an 82 (+11), placing 32nd.
Individually, Shane Quinn of Babson earned medalist honors with an even-par round of 71, while Francis Lanza of Adelphi finished second after posting a 72 (+1).
Farmingdale State will return to Bethpage State Park this weekend when they host the FSC Spring Invitational on April 18-19 at the Red Course. Seventeen teams are scheduled to compete in the two-day event.
