JACKSONVILLE, NC |Â The Farmingdale State men's golf team continued play at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on Saturday at the Paradise Point Gold Course, posting a second-round score of 298 (+10).
Through 36 holes, the Rams are tied for 10th place in the 24-team field with a total of 597 (+21), moving up one spot from their standing after Friday's opening round. No. 10 Oglethorpe University continues to lead the tournament at +2 (578), followed by Drew University at +3 (579). Dickinson College sits in third place at +5 (581) after posting the lowest round of the day with a 285 (-3).
Freshman Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.) led FSC in the second round with an even-par 72. Connolly turned in a two-under par on the front nine and finished the day with four birdies.
Freshman Luke Grebinar (Leominster, Mass.) followed with a 74 (+2), highlighted by a two-under back nine that included two birdies and seven pars.
Juniors Luke O'Grady-Rodgers (Carmel, N.Y.) and Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) each carded rounds of 76 (+4), while sophomore Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) finished with a 77 (+5).
Through two rounds, Connolly and Douglas are tied for 30th place in the 120-player field with matching totals of 148 (+4). Grebinar is tied for 44th at 150 (+6), while O'Grady-Rodgers sits tied for 50th with a two-round score of 151 (+7). Talwar rounds out the Rams' lineup tied for 67th with a total of 153 (+9).
Farmingdale State will conclude play at the three-round tournament on Sunday with the final round at Paradise Point Golf Course.
