Men's Basketball Rolls Past Old Westbury on Alumni Day

Farmingdale State 91, Old Westbury 58
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Four Farmingdale State College men's basketball players scored in double figures Saturday afternoon, as the Rams ran past Skyline Conference foe SUNY Old Westbury, 91-58.

Prior to the contest, head coach Brendan Twomey welcomed back more than a dozen Farmingdale State College men's basketball alumni for their annual return to campus and game against one another.

FSC (18-3, 11-1 Skyline) scored the first 13 points of the game over the course of the opening 4:15 of play, as junior forward Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) connected for five points before classmate Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) capped the spurt with a dunk off a pass from senior guard Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.). The Rams' lead remained in double digits throughout the rest of the half, as they limited the Panthers (7-15, 5-7) to a 9-for-34 (.265) shooting display and forced three shot clock violations on the way to holding a 45-24 lead at halftime. Senior guard Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored 11 points in the opening frame on 4-for-5 shooting, and made all three of his 3-point field goals.

Buckley's jumper 5:20 into the second half upped the hosts' lead to 60-34, and Farmingdale State led by at least 20 the rest of the way.

Conroy led the Rams with 19 points while finishing one assist shy of tying his career-high with eight helpers. Evans (6-for-6 FG) and Buckley (5-for-6 FG, six rebounds) scored 14 points apiece, while sophomore Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) made all six of his field goals on his way to 12 points.

Farmingdale State returns to Skyline action on the road Tuesday night (February 10), when it tips off at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.
