Men's Basketball Rolls Past Maritime on Senior Day; Will Enter Playoffs as No. 2 Seed

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's basketball team closed out their regular season schedule with a 94-56 Skyline Conference victory over visiting Maritime on Saturday afternoon. The Rams finish the regular season with a 22-3 overall record and a 15-1 Skyline mark. They have earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship.

Prior to today's game, FSC honored graduating seniors Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.), Robbie Siechen (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) in a Senior Day ceremony.

FSC led 16-12 before an 8-0 run, capped by three points apiece from sophomore guard Michael Spisto (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior forward Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.), gave them a 12-point lead.

Farmingdale State still led by 12, 32-20, and closed the first half with nine unanswered points to jump ahead 41-20 at the break.

Maritime (13-12, 9-7 Skyline) cut their deficit to 16, 48-32, through the first four minutes of the second half before the Rams responded with an 11-1 run to take a commanding 26-point advantage at 59-33.

FSC was ahead 64-39 with 10:29 remaining and outscored the Privateers 30-17 as they went on for the 94-56 victory.

Farmingdale State had five double-digit scorers as sophomore forward Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 16 points, to go with four rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Junior forward Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) produced 13 points and eight rebounds, while Notias finished with 12 points and four assists. Conroy contributed 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals and freshman forward Dylon Stanley (Lynbrook, N.Y.) added 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Buckley chipped in with nine points and a career-high four blocked shots in the victory.

The Rams have earned the No. 2 seed for the Skyline Conference Championship and will host the No. 7 seed in the Quarterfinal round. The opponent, date and time will be announced later this evening on SkylineConference.org.
