St. Joseph's-Long Island - 57, Farmingdale State - 41
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's basketball team hosted St. Joseph's-Long Island for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday afternoon and fell by a score of 57-41. The Rams dropped to 12-11 overall and 10-8 in conference play, while the Golden Eagles improved to 15-9, 11-8.
It was Senior Day at FSC and a special pregame ceremony was held to honor three graduating seniors playing in their final regular season home games:
Kelsie Feingold (East Northport, N.Y.),
Alexandria Walbroehl (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and
Shyann Parker (Floral Park, N.Y.).
SJLIÂ limited Farmingdale State to just five points in the opening quarter as they took a 15-5 edge into the second.
The Golden Eagles hit back-to-back 3's to open the second and increase their advantage to 13 points. They led 29-17 at halftime and outscored FSC, 18-6, in the third quarter to take a commanding 47-23 lead.
The Rams tallied 18 fourth quarter points but fell 57-41.
Junior guard
Mia Simmons (Queens, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with 11 points, while sophomore guard
Emily Tsiforas (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) produced eight points, four rebounds and four steals. Sophomore
Brianna Amenta (Oceanside, N.Y.) chipped in with eight points and junior forward
Samyah Allen (Queens Village, N.Y.) added seven points and three blocks off the bench.
Golden Eagles' Madelyn Barone produced a game-high 22 points in the victory.
The Rams will next head on the road to take on Purchase College on Wednesday, February 18th at 6:00 p.m.
